Crystal D. Hatton, MA, LPC, NCC, ACS

Crystal holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University and previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on Family Studies from Corban University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (License #C6821) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC #1737402). In addition, Crystal is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (#ACS-5728) and an Oregon board-approved supervisor. While counseling is rarely a quick fix, it is a personalized, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and integrated approach to help you, which may include Restoration Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

On a personal note, Crystal is married to her high school sweetheart, and they now have two sons in high school, each with his own unique personality. As a family, they enjoy trips to the Oregon coast and exploring the beautiful waterfalls of the Pacific Northwest. They also have a mini husky (Alaskan Klee Kai) who, as a “forever puppy,” is undoubtedly the family favorite! Crystal is a deep thinker who values meaningful conversations that challenge both herself and others to learn, grow, and rise strong through life’s challenges.

Crystal would be honored to learn more about you, hear your story, and walk with you on your journey to Rising Strong!

Leah Johnson, Counseling Intern

Leah Johnson holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Western Oregon University and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, with an anticipated graduation in December 2025. Having completed all her foundational graduate coursework, Leah is well-equipped to meet clients with compassion, empathy, and professionalism in the counseling room.

Leah focuses on supporting clients through women’s issues, betrayal, infidelity, grief and loss, as well as caring for aging loved ones. Her warm and understanding approach provides a safe space for clients to explore their emotions and experiences. Rising Strong Counseling is thrilled to welcome Leah as part of the team. During her internship, she will offer counseling services under the dual supervision of Crystal D. Hatton, MA, LPC, NCC, ACS (Oregon License #C6821), and a Liberty University faculty supervisor.

Outside of her counseling work, Leah enjoys spending time with her family. She has raised six children and is a proud grandmother to four grandchildren! A lifelong learner and creative thinker, Leah is also an expert puzzler and an avid reader. She’s always excited to hear your favorite book recommendations!
